right next to where I hang my house keys.
It was right there where I left it an hour later,
holding down the grocery list
and the reminder about the birthday cards,
then I went to the window
to see if it was raining
and when I turned around,
it was today.

That's beautiful. And a little sad...time goes so quickly, lost amid the busy little things that occupy us, and you've captured that nicely. The way you phrase such thoughts and feelings makes me envious.
