The mind must remember that there is a bottle of capers in the fridge,
 that Tuesday next our appointment is now at 9:20,
that the sun is really out there warming us up.


The heart has the harder task:
to remember that love is here,
sometimes just as hard to see as the capers or the sun,
but here.

Interrogatories

The child-mind keeps asking:



-Is it yet?


-Are we almost?


-Do we do?


-May we may?


"Yes" I say softly,"Nearly"


But, as with most grown-ups,
I have no idea, just hope.

Horizon Ships

I swam out to them. It was darker and foggier onboard.
